After Sleeping Beauty... Sleeping Tesla Driver
In December last year, officers encountered a drunk "driver" asleep at the wheel of a Tesla S Model. They moved behind the car and turned on their sirenes and lights, but the driver didn't wake up. Figuring the Tesla might be using Autopilot, they pulled in front of the car and gradually started slowing down. And the Tesla slowed down too, until it was stopped in its lane, with the driver still asleep.
The good thing is that the technology clearly worked...but I wonder, if it is possible to develop an Autopilot system, how hard can it be to integrate drunken-driving prevention devices in every car?
