Supermarkets and drugstores are among the few kinds of stores that remain open to serve the public during the coronavirus crisis. As the practice of social distancing becomes the norm, most grocery stores across the US are designating special hours strictly for seniors and other shoppers who are vulnerable to serious illness from the pandemic.

Many chains have also adjusted their store hours to allow workers more time to clean stores and restock shelves.
