September is the new January

Back to Business with fresh energy and sharper focus

It has become a little tradition in our house. Mid-August, when most schools have already started in California and everything is heavily discounted, my daughter and I go shopping for school supplies.

It always reminds me how much September feels like the “January New Year.” In January, many people are exhausted from the holidays and distracted by endless receptions. September, on the other hand, brings fresh energy, sharper focus, and four strong months still ahead.

This is the time when I like to set new goals, clean out my desk, and buy my planning calendar for the coming year. A fresh start for both school and business.

“Balance short-term wins with long-term preparation”

What Can Still Bring Results in 2025

September is the perfect moment to finish the year strong and make the rest of the year count. It is short enough to keep the adrenaline going, but long enough to create meaningful results.

Here are a few ways you can sharpen your focus and achieve impact before the year ends:

  • Set clear priorities and focus on what can bring results this year.

  • Launch that new program or events you have been considering, it is not too late! Fall is a great month to test new initiatives.

  • Re-engage dormant leads or clients who showed interest earlier in the year.

And sometimes, it is about refreshing the way you present your business. In August I updated my website, refined my positioning and value offering, rewrote my bio, and integrated new tools and visualizations into my Growth Accelerator Program. These updates not only help me think more strategically, but also allow me to deliver greater value to my clients.

Prepare for Success in 2026

While you are working hard to finish the year strong, it is equally important to look ahead. The seeds you plant now will define your success in 2026.

Consider using this season to:

  • Re-activate old connections or expand your network.

  • Secure speaking engagements and visibility opportunities; some require preparation a year in advance.

  • Map out upcoming travel or market initiatives.

September is one of the best months to think strategically. The distractions are fewer, energy levels are higher, and it gives you a head start before the January rush.

Warm regards,

Sophie
