My Journey of Shaping a Business

Next month marks 10 years since I moved from Belgium to Silicon Valley. That move also meant my transition from the corporate tech world to the role I still love today: helping B2B tech companies define and implement their growth strategy.

In the early days of building my business, I took courses and followed workshops, surrounded myself with inspiring colleagues, and experimented to find what worked. One lesson that has stayed with me ever since is something called

The Michelangelo Principle”

When Michelangelo completed his masterpiece David, he was asked how he managed to create such a magnificent statue. Michelangelo replied that David was already hidden inside the uncut block of marble, all he had to do was remove everything that wasn’t David.

That’s how I’ve approached my business. Over time, I removed everything that wasn’t aligned with my expertise, strengths, or values. I narrowed down the type of clients I work with, refined my approach, and became crystal clear on where I can bring the most value.

The result?

Today, I focus on working with B2B tech businesses and established startups. I love working with companies that offer unique value in a specific niche and are committed to achieving their goals.

I work on strategy. It’s a broad word, yes, but my approach is focused and hands-on, grounded in three core values that have become the foundation of everything I do:

🔍 Clarity Growth starts with focus. I help clients cut through complexity to define what truly matters. We focus on the right priorities so they not only move, but move in the right direction. Doing less, better leads to faster results.

🌍 Objectivity My clients value how I challenge their thinking and bring an outside perspective. With experience across industries and markets, and the advantage of not being tied to daily operations, I help keep teams focused on what truly moves the needle. I also bring a Silicon Valley mindset: think big, start focused, and learn fast.

🚀 Action Strategy without execution is just wishful thinking. From the moment we start working together, we turn the strategy into a concrete action plan with clear milestones and defined ownership. This ensures progress doesn’t stay on paper, it becomes reality.

As I celebrate 10 years in Silicon Valley, I’m more committed than ever to the work I do and the companies I support.
