Real Thinking Still Matters

After a long and relaxing Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, I was ready to tackle a packed to-do list on Tuesday. But Murphy’s Law had other plans. A fire alarm test disrupted my work at the coworking space, and when I decided to work from home, my laptop crashed. With my laptop in repair, I suddenly had unexpected free time: a perfect moment for some real thinking with nothing but a good old-fashioned pen and paper.

This pause gave me the chance to reflect on the fundamentals of my work. It brought clarity to the flow I follow for every project, which is guided by three core principles: Clarity, Efficiency and Action.

1. Clarity – Moving in the Right Direction

Growth starts with understanding where you are and where you want to go. It means gaining clarity on the different options to strengthen or expand your business, defining a focused goal, and aligning on the right priorities to achieve it.

2. Efficiency – Moving Smart

Once your direction (the what) is clear, the next step is choosing the smartest way (the how) to move forward. This involves evaluating the best approach:

·         Build : develop in-house

·         Buy : outsource or acquire

·         Ally : collaborate

Making the right decisions saves time, money, and effort, allowing you to grow efficiently.

3. Action – Putting Strategy to Work

Strategy without action is just theory. Once the direction is set and your approach is clear, the real work begins. Whether it’s activating your team, securing the right partnerships, or launching new initiatives, the key is to connect strategy to an action plan and start driving results.

Now, let me ask you: When was the last time you paused to reflect on the fundamentals of your business?

If you’re ready to take your growth plans to the next level, let’s have a conversation and explore how these principles can transform your business.
